The Preliminary Regatta
A friendly opportunity to see all of the teams racing on the water.
The racing begins with two days of match races to find the two fastest teams. This is followed by a final match race between the successful teams to decide the ultimate winner of the event, and a hint at what’s to come in the battle for the America’s Cup.
29TH AUG - 8TH SEP, 2024
Louis Vuitton Cup - Round Robin
The Louis Vuitton Cup (Challenger Selections Series) will determine which team will face the Defender Emirates Team New Zealand in the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Match. The double Round Robin is the only fleet race in the regatta and will ultimately determine the four teams that will advance to the semi-final match races.
14TH - 19TH SEP, 2024
Louis Vuitton Cup - Semi Final
The top four teams from the Round Robin stage will race each other in a first-to-five-points Semi-Final in a match race format, with the two winners advancing to the Louis Vuitton Cup Final. This is the first time in the competition that we will see a change of tactics to reflect a match racing strategy, seen for the rest of Louis Vuitton Cup regatta and of course, the America’s Cup regatta.
26TH SEP - 7TH OCT, 2024
Louis Vuitton Cup - Final
The battle to have the chance to compete for the America’s Cup continues. The winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup will be the first team to score seven points in a match race, and will then ultimately win the opportunity to face Emirates Team New Zealand in the Louis Vuitton America's Cup. The teams must bring their A-game and their most impressive performance yet.

Louis Vuitton America’s Cup
